| About the FDA |
The fundamental purpose of the Foundation for Democratic Advancement, a non-partisan, non-profit public company, is to advance/improve western democracy. The FDA fulfills this advancement/improvement through informing voters, holding political representatives and their parties accountable through non-partisan, objective ranking and grading reports, and informing the public on important social issues.It is a belief of the FDA that the cause of democratic advancement is very significant because democratic systems determine who are the political representatives, and what are the policies of government and laws of society, and how public monies are spent. The advancement of western democracy would have a positive impact on the rest of western society. (For more information see FDA's cause)
The Foundation for Democratic Advancement is guided by three principles:
1. Objectivity of research and findings.
2. Public transparency of research, findings, and public input.
3. Non-partisanship.

The FDA has no affiliation with any political party or organization, or corporate/private interests.

Stephen Garvey (based in Canada), Chief Director of the FDA, has a BA in Political Science, MA in Environment Development, and internal auditing background. Also, he is an author of a number of works on political theory. Further, he is the originator of Evaluative Democracy, and founder of the Challenge the Philosophy Competitions and the Foundation for Democratic Advancement.

Ethan Canter (based in United Kingdom), marketing and fund raising coordinator for the FDA, has a BA and MA. Also, he is an author and artist with an active interest in film and speech.
