The FDA's Cause

The fundamental cause of the FDA is to advance western democracy. I.e. help make western society more democratic. The FDA supports this cause by producing non-partisan, objective ranking and grading reports to inform voters, hold political representatives and their parties accountable, and inform the public on important social issues.

The FDA believes that voters face an array of political influence and manipulation before, during, and after elections, and that the FDA's ranking and grading reports can counteract the political influence and manipulation by informing voters objectively. Moreover, the FDA documents elections, and the FDA reports themselves are used to hold political representatives and their parties accountable. Also, the FDA evaluates important social issues to help ensure that the public is better represented and further hold political representatives accountable.

The FDA is committed to improving the objectivity of its ranking and grading methodologies. Also, the FDA realizes that ultimately voters must make the final decision as to who is better political representative, and decide which political representatives and/or parties ought to be held accountable.

The FDA defines democracy as "government of the people, by the people, for the people." Abraham Lincoln, Gettsburg Address. In this regard, the FDA is a non-partisan, non-profit advocate for the public.
